COVID-19 Rage Festival 2020 FAQ

Rage Festival in Ballito takes the safety of its attendees, staff and community extremely seriously. What happened in 2020 was deeply regrettable and simply cannot happen again.

For 2021, all attendees will be required to show proof of their Government approved COVID-19 vaccine. Furthermore, Rapid Antigen testing will be widely used to ensure the safety of staff, attendees and loved ones at home. Every attendee will be required to have a Rapid Antigen test every 2 days before entry is granted. Every staff member will be tested daily before entry. The tests are a gentle nasal swab type, WHO and SAPHRA approved Rapid Antigen tests administered by a registered medical practitioner. All test costs are covered by the festival.

The festival will only proceed with the support and permission of the relevant officials in the cities in which we operate. The festival will be extremely limited, so Passports will not be available to everyone. In the event that the festival cannot proceed due to COVID-19, all Passport holders will receive a 90% refund.

There is a high likelihood, we will communicate this closer to the time. Regardless of whether we mandate it or not, we highly recommend you do! If you contact us prior to coming to Ballito Rage to let us know you have tested positive for COVID-19, you will receive a 90% refund on presentation of your laboratory PCR certificate. However, if you test positive at the official Rage Festival testing stations, you will not receive any refund and will be responsible for the arrangement and cost of your quarantine inline with Government regulations.

The Rage Festival 2021 Passport includes all of your COVID-19 Rapid Antigen testing. Each Passport holder will receive 3 Rapid Antigen tests over the period of the festival at a value of approximately R1500. You do not need to pay extra for this as it is included in your festival Passport.

Before you collect your Rage Festival Passport on the first day you arrive.

Not at all. Testing is quick, non-invasive and the results are instant. You’ll be at the entrance for 5 to 15 minutes before being welcomed into the events. The test kits are the absolute latest Flow Flex Rapid Antigen kits and are only a gentle nasal swab at the entrance of your nose. We will not be using the more unpleasant nasopharyngeal swabs (you know the ones – that feel like they’re going into the depths of your brain!)

To enquire, please email info@gandgpro.com with a letter from your GP (doctor only) or Specialist (doctor only) detailing the reasons why you cannot receive the COVID-19 vaccine clearly showing your full name and ID number.

If for any reason, Ballito Rage is forced to further downsize for COVID-19 related reasons, participation will be on a first-in last-out basis. All the more reason to be the first to Pre-Register and buy your Passport first!

If you test positive on arrival or during the festival, we will have an isolated vehicle to drive you back to you wherever you are staying. It is then your responsibility to quarantine in line with Government regulations. You will not be able to attend any further Rage Festival events. You will not receive a refund as per our terms and conditions.

It’s very unlikely. However if you test positive and believe the result is incorrect, you’re welcome to request a retest at a discounted rate of R350 right away. You may even request a PCR test if you wish for R1100. PCR results are however overnight and so you won’t be able to attend that event anyway.

Please notify us and our COVID-19 officials will advise you accordingly.
